Flower Welfare Guide

Comprehensive Flower Welfare Guide:

Taking care of your flowers properly ensures that they stay fresh and vibrant for as long as possible. Follow these steps to maximize the life and beauty of your floral arrangement:

  • Prepare a Clean Vase:
Use a clean vase and fill it with fresh, room-temperature water. The vase should be large enough to accommodate the stems without crowding.
  • Cutting and Trimming:
Trim off any excess foliage and thorns that will be below the waterline. Use clean, sharp scissors or floral shears to avoid crushing the stems.
  • Cutting Stems at an Angle:
Cut the stems at a 45-degree angle. This increases the surface area for water absorption, allowing the flowers to stay hydrated for longer.
  • Remove Foliage Below the Waterline:
Remove any leaves or flowers that might be submerged in the water, as they can create bacteria and reduce water quality.
  • Use Flower Food:
Add flower food to the water following the manufacturer’s instructions. Flower food provides essential nutrients, helps buds develop, and extends the life of your blooms.
  • Change Water Regularly:
Change the water every 2 to 3 days or when it appears cloudy. Fresh water prevents bacterial growth and keeps the flowers healthy.
  • Clean the Vase:
Before refilling the vase, rinse it thoroughly with warm, soapy water to remove any residue or bacteria.
  • Remove Spent Flowers:
Remove any wilted or decaying flowers from the arrangement promptly. This prevents ethylene gas production, which can accelerate the aging process of other flowers.
  • Enjoy and Appreciate:
Take time to appreciate the beauty of your floral arrangement. A positive environment and good vibes may even contribute to their longevity!
